Details - The 1984 FA Cup Final was played on 19 May 1984 at Wembley Stadium between Everton and Watford. In a match that marked Everton’s resurgence under manager Howard Kendall, the Merseyside club claimed a 2–0 victory to lift their fourth FA Cup. After a goalless first half, Graeme Sharp opened the scoring with a header following a mistake by Watford goalkeeper Steve Sherwood, and Andy Gray sealed the win with a controversial goal that was allowed to stand despite claims of a foul. The triumph was Everton’s first major trophy in over a decade and the beginning of a hugely successful period for the club in the mid-1980s.
